This was an illustration in traditional medium, mainly in pencil. This piece I attempted to encompass how someone can look so beautiful, whilst being consumed invisibly with conditions like mental illness.
A study I had done to capture colorful, yet eerie imagery and feeling to allow the viewer their own experience. The individual featured here had a love for vanity, and a fascination with Pagan and Egyptian religious culture. They wanted a sexy, enticing call to develop a fascination with unconventional belief systems, featuring their likeness. They were also very passive aggressive, and wanted their personalty captured with all this in mind. This was used by them for all of their social media, and even proffesional contact image for years.
This commissioned artwork resulted in a marriage. When Paul contacted me he wanted a Christmas gift celebrating their love, and relationship. He also really wanted to marry her. I went with a pencil sketch as his request because she had a love of the digital pencil sketch filters that you can do photos. The digital sketch photo booths in the mall were a favorite of hers as well but she did not get a "feeling" from them. When he told me all of this we went through a series of their most cherished photos and decided on this one. The day after chritmas he contacted me to say she loved it, and they were engaged. They have been married even to this day.
And Samson went and caught three hundred foxes, and took firebrands, and turned tail to tail, and put a firebrand in the midst between two tails.
Judges 15:4
While working for a Christian apparel company the owners decided they wanted to a graphic novel based on the Bible story of Samson. They wanted this verse depicted in one visual. The final result was this half page splash panel.
Quick study I did to explore depicting a Geisha with a engaging expression.
Promotional illustration for a graphic novel I was commissioned by a Florida based music production company. As any story goes you need "bad guys" this was one of them. The company owners wanted a monstrous rock lava creature as one one of the baddies. This was the final visual we arrived at. The main characters refereed to these particular creatures as bullies, due to their intimidating, and aggressive nature.
While working for Yoked Apparel I did promotional work for the companies contracted fighters. They decided a graphic novel for one of their more animated clients. A personality that was one of likable confidence, and came with an explosive fighting style. This page was to capture the character's real self, without having to simply show a brutal visual of him dispatching his attackers. Which of course came next, but I did not feture.
California based production company. The founders wanted to a promotional comic book featuring themselves. They provided me with various comic book charters wearing armor, and futuristic weapons that they wanted me to model their likenesses around. They requested their favorite colors, and left me to create their "look". This was used as a teaser to get a an online buzz going.
